- What did John Meedzan tell CIO Bulletin about iLeasePro?

CIO Bulletin has featured iLeasePro in its November 2026 edition. The magazine lists iLeasePro among its Leading Lease Intelligence and Accounting Platforms 2026 and publishes an interview with John Meedzan, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of iLease Management LLC.

What the interview covers
The conversation runs from why iLeasePro was built to where it goes next:
- Why it exists: ASC 842 put operating leases on the balance sheet as a right-of-use asset and a lease liability (ASC 842-20-25-1), and the schedules behind them have to stay right through every renewal and modification.
- Classification: how the ASC 842 Classification Wizard walks through the five classification criteria in ASC 842-10-25-2 and saves each answer with the lease.
- The rebuilt platform: a full ASC 842 subledger, with trial balance, balance sheet and income statement activity for each lease and for the portfolio.
- Who it serves: private U.S. companies and nonprofits reporting under U.S. GAAP, with published pricing and unlimited users on every plan.
- The roadmap: AI lease abstraction, further journal entry automation, anomaly detection and more accounting integrations.
In John's words
On why the product was built, once ASC 842 put operating leases on the balance sheet:
Most companies weren't going to manage that reliably in Excel. So we built iLeasePro to do the math and show its work.
On classification:
Classification is where a lot of ASC 842 errors start, which is why we built the ASC 842 Classification Wizard.
On pricing:
Our pricing is published, which is still unusual in this market. I think a company should know what compliance will cost before it talks to a salesperson.
On AI:
I'm optimistic, with one condition: automation and analytics are only as good as the data underneath them.
