iLeasePro's Rebuilt Platform: A Lease Subledger, a Simpler Lineup and a Base for AI
Questions this article answers
- Does iLeasePro have an ASC 842 subledger?
- What does the iLeasePro trial balance show?
- What is on the iLeasePro roadmap?
iLeasePro has finished rebuilding its platform end to end. It now includes a full ASC 842 subledger. A controller can review trial balance, balance sheet and income statement activity for one lease or the whole portfolio before entries reach the general ledger. The rebuild also simplified the product lineup and gave us a modern base for AI.
What the new subledger gives a finance team
Schedules and journal entries still matter. But a controller closing the books also has a simpler question: do the lease balances hold together? The subledger is built to answer it.
- Trial balance by lease and by portfolio: debits, credits and balances for the accounts each lease touches, summed across the leases in scope at the portfolio level.
- Two views of the same numbers: a snapshot as of a date, and a rollforward of activity by period. The rollforward lets an auditor tie journal entries to a specific period.
- Balance sheet and income statement activity: the right-of-use asset, the lease liability and lease cost, each built from the same journal entries.
- Internal consistency checks: automated tests that debits equal credits and that the trial balance agrees with the balance sheet and income statement views.
- General ledger mapping: each row shows the account code from the subsidiary's mapping and marks any account that has no code yet.
One limit is worth stating plainly. The checks show the subledger agrees with itself. They do not show the financial statements are right, and they do not compare the subledger with your general ledger.
That comparison stays with your team, along with the judgments behind each lease. We wrote a separate guide to what auditors expect from a lease subledger.
A simpler product lineup
You now choose lease accounting, contract management (lease administration), or both, whatever the size of your portfolio. Every plan includes unlimited users. The controller, the bookkeeper and the outside CPA can all work from the same data. See our published lease accounting software pricing.
Our biggest milestone was rebuilding iLeasePro end to end this past year. That gave us a full ASC 842 subledger, a simpler product lineup, and a modern architecture we can build AI on.
What is next on the roadmap
In our experience, the largest cost in lease accounting is staff time: keying in lease data, reconciling spreadsheets and answering auditor questions. Our roadmap uses AI and automation to cut that time, with a person still in control of the result.
- AI lease abstraction: capturing a lease's clauses and options and building them into the lease record.
- Further journal entry automation: moving entries from generation through review and posting with less manual effort.
- Anomaly detection: flagging unusual items, such as a payment that does not match the lease terms, before they reach the general ledger or the auditor.
- More accounting integrations: our Sage Intacct integration is live and QuickBooks Online is coming soon, with other leading accounting solutions planned for 2027.
Roadmap items are plans, not delivered features, and their timing can change.
Where the rebuild fits with our controls
The subledger sits alongside the independent evidence auditors already ask for. Our 2026 SOC 1 Type 2 report covers August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026. Customers can request a copy for their auditors.
CIO Bulletin also featured iLeasePro in its November 2026 edition, with an interview about the rebuild: iLeasePro: Turning Lease Accounting Complexity into Clarity with Intelligent Automation and Audit-Ready Precision. Our note on the CIO Bulletin feature pulls out the highlights.
